Tips on how to handle a casting call
When you are attending a casting call remember the casting director has in probability not found what he is looking for and will know it when he sees it. Casting directors are very rarely looking for scene stealers or prima dona’s. What they would definitely be looking for is to imbibe the chemistry within the cast to get the best out of every scene. It will do you a world of good if you can show the casting director that you are a team player by working with the cast, being respectful and one who can listen to directions. Trying to upstage ones compatriots only brings conflict which the casting director is hoping to avoid. Being both proactive and professional with everyone you interact with in the sets can positively add to your prospects. Be confident and respectful rather than begging for a break, remember it’s not their job to help you.
